About Pangea Welcome to the world of Pangea Collection. I’m Patricia and I created this website as a way to share my passion—a passion to discover the most beautiful places, people and objects in the world. Like a lot of women I love to travel and I love to shop. When I shop I’m looking for unique handmade jewelry pieces, jewelry that is filled with meaning. I want to know the origin of a jewelry piece and who made it, I want to know its story. When I shop I’m looking for jewelry that reflect my personal style and make me feel great when I’m wearing them or displaying them in my home. For me there is nothing better than travel and shopping. Preferably at the same time! That’s where my idea for Pangea Collection came from. Over the last two years I worked in Paris, France in an international capacity so I was fortunate to travel to many countries around the world. While I was abroad I always made time to enjoy the local culture and shopping hot spots. I could never leave without a piece of that place—usually jewellery or an accessory—for my apartment! When I wore the jewelry or displayed the accessories in my apartment they drew compliments from friends. People would ask me where I bought them. I would then tell the story about the place it came from or even the artisan who handcrafted it. I loved that! Now I have a place to share all these experiences with you—Pangea Collection! Pangea is the name given to the super continent believed to have existed about 250 million years ago before the continents were separated by the process of plate tectonics. My idea at Pangea-Collection.com is to bring the world together again for you so you can enjoy the most beautiful artisan and fair trade jewelry and home accessories it has to offer when you can’t travel there yourself. I hope you love the Collection on this site as much as I do. To me it represents some of the most beautiful people and places I have ever known (or plan to visit soon!). I’m proud to be able to share their stories with you, and even happier for you to pass them on to your friends. Wearing these jewellery pieces and displaying the accessories in your home also exhibits the beauty of their origins. You become part of a living culture. I chose to make a place in my life for the beauty of these stories and every day I feel great because of that choice. We also believe that interpretation and the evolution of such crafts are important for their long-term sustainability. You can feel good about supporting these artists by proudly wearing their jewellery or displaying their accessories in your home. It is nice to know who has contributed to making you feel great about the beauty you are wearing or surrounded by. At the same time, somewhere there’s an artisan who in return is proud that you have chosen to make their artwork a part of your life.
