Mexican Mosaic Jewelry

This beautiful mosaic silver toned jewelry is handmade in Mexico by a group of women artisans who are part of a native women's artisan group. These women decided to create a jewelry cooperative. These women artisans have a long, historic training process from previous generations.

In the 1980s the popular Abalone jewelry was created in their home towns, Tecalpulco, Mexico. The women in the cooperative are proud of each and every mosaic jewelry piece they create. The creation of this beautiful mosiac jewelry requires precise and exact techniques and is labour intense. The resulting mosiac jewelry is high quality and a beautiful example of jewelry handcraft.
