Ugandan African Jewelry

This Ugandan African jewelry represents artisan jewellery work of a group of over 20 women in various parts of Uganda. The women in the group are widows, single mothers or students.

For these women the recycled and eco wood jewelry that they create as a part of this group is the primary or sole source of income. It provides them with a means to attain medical treatment and educate their children.

There are two different artisan jewelry styles represented here, recycled seed jewelry and wood bead jewelry. The wood bracelet style is intricately woven into a pretty design featuring flowers. The seed necklace is handmade by stringing watermelon seeds together. Discover the creativity of these African jewelry pieces.
